A few months ago, after developing a good number of black and white rolls, I decided it was time to move on to color film. Initially, the idea of developing color film seemed intimidating, but I soon realized that the main challenge, compared to black and white, is maintaining precise temperature control.
Color film has three distinct layers that react to red, blue, and green light. When developing color negatives, it’s crucial to keep the temperature of the developing agents stable; otherwise, the colors can shift.
After researching online, my first thought was to purchase the Cinestill TCS-1000. I considered it until I realized that a more affordable alternative would be to buy a cheap sous vide cooker.
I also grabbed a Cinestill CN2 simplified developer. I scanned the following images using my Plustek 8100. Unfortunately I’ve scratched the films probably during and after the development process.
